Water Kefir Grains
Water Kefir Grains are back in stock. I have a plentiful supply, as of January 26, 2013 when this was written. I don't expect to run low any more.
Many, many people want to use these for making coconut water kefir. You certain can but you need to know that they will not last forever in coconut water. They will eventually turn to mush, they will go through the strainer and you will lose them. So what should you do?
Feed your water grains what they thrive and grow on. Sugar and water. Then, when you have extras, establish a second jar for your coconut water or any other medium you choose to use, even milk. It does not matter how long they last because your first jar will be making more water grains all the time and you will have plenty for all your experiments. It is all good to drink. Water grains come with full instructions including what I just said.
Water kefir grains do not grow for about half the people buying them. They grow like gangbusters for some people and a little bit for the rest. For this reason that they are not growing for fully half the people buying them I cannot guarantee they will grow for you. But I do guarantee they will work, that is, make water kefir for you. Water kefir is done when it tastes pleasantly tart. Give them time to settle in; several days and up to a couple weeks. Please email or call before throwing them out if you think something is wrong. Many times there is a misinterpration of their behavior causing people to think they have died.
Dried water grains are $10, cash only no checks please. (There is no extra shipping charge for dried cultures but I have had to increase the shipping charge of fresh cultures by $1 because the rates went up way too much this time.) Dried water grains are available for anyone living stateside or in other countries. When reconstituted amount to 1/4 cup.
Fresh water grains are $15 plus $6 shipping, cash only, no checks please. Fresh water grains are available only for people living in the United States. You get 1/4 cup.
If you feel uncomfortable sending cash through the mail or if you live in Canada or overseas and don't want to to make the exchange, I have an alternate way to pay. You can send me an Amazon.com gift card. Choose email and fill out the form. My real name for the gift card is Marilyn Jarzembski and my email is email@example.com. Remember to tell me who it is from. I am already getting anonymous gift cards!
When you are ready to order send me an email with your name and mailing address. Please format your address exactly the way it should look on a label including your full name for the first line, post office box or street address for the second line, and city, state, and zip for the third line. Please capitalize all proper nouns. Hundreds of people write to me every week and I fill the easy orders first. LOL.
